Adeline is a New Zealand trained dietitian passionate about supporting and educating people to self-manage their health by translating latest scientific nutritional evidence into practical lifestyle advice.
As a mum of young children, Adeline appreciates that our food choices are influenced by our taste preferences, family rituals, mixed in a hectic lifestyle and balanced with personal nutritional needs. Her down to earth approach, while remaining empathetic to your medical condition, ensures you leave each appointment motivated to make a positive change.
With over 13 years of dietetic experience, Adeline has worked in a range of clinical specialities including oncology, renal, surgical, medical and community.
Adeline started her career as an Oncology Dietitian with Regional Cancer Treatment Services working with patients from Taranaki, Whanganui, Tarawhiti, Hawkes Bay and MidCentral District Health Boards undergoing chemotherapy, radiation therapy and surgery. Adeline understands the importance of cancer symptoms and side effects that effect eating is treated early. She continues to assist patients with cancer in her current role at Counties Manukau.
She has special interest in working with patients with kidney stones to proactively prevent kidney stone reoccurrence. In addition to practical experience, Adeline has attended several local and international conferences and seminars in this area to ensure her practice keeps abreast with latest research and guidelines.
Adeline has a holistic approach to the patients in her care. She has trained in scientifically proven approaches such as the Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (effective counselling methods) as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
As a dietitian prescriber, Adeline can prescribe and authorise nutritional supplements for patients when needed.
Away from work, Adeline tends to her orchard and vegetable garden with the help of her two daughters.
Adeline divides her professional time between Counties Manukau DHB and One Six One.
